Search Marketing Fact Pack 2007

Ad_age_search_fact_pack

Advertising Age has released their annual review of the on line search marketing business. The 52 page document is packed full of interesting information and statistics, although it obviously has a US bias.

Most valuable (for UK) readers is the synopsis of the big five search engines, Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL and Ask which provides a useful insight into their revenues, recent acquisitions and possible plans for the future.

One interesting fact I gleaned from the data, is that whilst 35% of marketers are managing fewer than 100 keywords within their paid for search, the top 6%  are currently managing around 20,000 words - this point alone should give UK marketer's cause to review their own levels of investment in online search!
